Beer Bloggers and Writers Conference - Less than one month away!

Writer's picture: JoshJosh

The Beer Bloggers and Writers Conference is less than a month away, and I am incredibly excited but so far behind. Thankfully, I’ve got a free night and an ice cold beer to keep me company while I get my itinerary squared away!

Usually, I’m one to take care of this sort of stuff months in advance; however, its been a busy year thus far. Such is the way of things with being a husband, a dad, and working full time, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Sadly, I missed 2017’s conference in Milwaukee last year being that I was new to the beer blogging scene. I actually saw a few posts from my friend Mr. Uncap Everything, Eric Jackson. After seeing what a great time he had, I knew that I had to be a part of the Conference in 2018. The location of Loudon County, Virginia made things easier with being close to home, and my incredibly awesome wife secured me a ticket to the conference as a Christmas gift last year. Thanks baby!

So yea, the Beer Bloggers and Writer’s Conference will be held in Loudon County, Virginia August 10-11. The event will feature a keynote by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery’s Founder and CEO Sam Calagione, multiple breakout sessions on a variety of beer and industry-related topics from beer enthusiasts and industry experts, several amazing meals, beer tastings, and so much more. I have no doubt that it will be two days full of beer/industry knowledge and of course beer!

As I’m reviewing the agenda for the conference—and enjoying this Edmund’s Oast Singular Session IPA—there are many things I am looking forward to. In all honesty, it’s kind of hard to pick something I am looking most forward to—perhaps the main keynote from Sam Calagione and the biggest #AskDogfish ever? Even as great as that sounds, I think what I am looking forward to most about the Beer Bloggers and Writers Conference is meeting people from the craft beer community.

Throughout my time in the craft beer industry, I have to say that the people is what makes craft great. Of course the beer is a given, but the people behind that beer—the brewers, the founders, the workers, the enthusiasts, the bloggers, the drinkers—that’s what makes craft beer great. Nearly each talk, breakout, and session at the conference is delivered by someone in the industry, and that is invaluable. We will be hearing from people who love what they do on a daily basis, and I think that’s going to be awesome. Add to that the fact that I will be attending with tons of other beer bloggers, writers, and enthusiasts, and I know that these two days are going to be phenomenal.

So yea, the countdown is on…I can’t wait, and I know this year’s Beer Bloggers and Writer’s Conference is going to be amazing. Stay tuned for more updates...Cheers! #BeerBloggersAndWritersConference #BeerNews #BeerEvents
