Sierra Nevada Brewing Company's Southern Gothic Pilsner

Writer's picture: JoshJosh

I have been wanting to try Sierra Nevada's Southern Gothic for quite some time, so I picked one up the other day and figured I'd review it on the show.

Pretty much everything Sierra Nevada does is top notch, so this brew had high expectations. I think they lived up to them just fine! Hazy-golden in color, this beer provided notes of breadiness, yeast, and light hops. It was a perfect setup as those pleasant bready notes hit the palate with a subtle malty sweetness before being balanced out by a pleasant bitterness, courtesy of what I'm guessing were herbal or floral hops.

The beer was light and easy drinking, and I feel that this Pilsner had a softer mouthfeel than most pilsners and lagers I have had in the past. It added an interesting dynamic to the beer. Well done Sierra Nevada! #BeerReview #Pilsner #SierraNevada #FindYourCraft
