Heist Brewery's Blurred is the Word IPA

Writer's picture: JoshJosh

Heist Brewery's Blurred is the Word was an incredible American IPA! Actually, I would classify it more as a New England Style IPA. Either way, this hazy (or blurred) IPA boasted loads of amazing hop aromas and flavors.

As far as aromas go, I picked up some citrus notes--grapefruit, lemon, citrus rind--tropical fruit notes, and light notes of grassiness. On the palate, the malt served as platform of the beer; there was possibly some flaked oats or wheat used in the brew, attributing to that haze. Mid-taste there was an excellent hoppy bitterness featuring those citrus notes, in particular grapefruit and citrus rind. Post-taste, I detected a nice dankiness and resiny-ness. I really appreciated two different types of hop manifestations there--the more citrus-type flavor, followed by the resiny and danky flavor. Well done on that! Cheers to an excellent brew from Heist! #BeerReview #HeistBrewery #IPA #NEIPA #FindYourCraft
