Extra Pulp Double American Wheat Ale, Civil Society Brewing CompanY

Writer's picture: JoshJosh

The Extra Pulp Double American Wheat Ale was an incredibly unique brew from Civil Society Brewing Company. This was everything you could want in a wheat beer and more as it had a strong dose of hops.

Pouring a hazy orange color, reminiscent of a pulp-filled glass of orange juice, this beer provided aromas of citrus fruit and orange peel. The beer was incredibly smooth, thanks to the wheat, and it also provided a healthy dose of hoppiness mid to late taste. These hoppy notes manifested in citrus and citrus rind type flavors. I also discerned a bit of orange in this beer--possibly from either some orange zest or orange peel oil.

I enjoyed this beer and definitely appreciate the innovation. I feel like it combined elements of the American Wheat Ale with the hop-forwardness of an IPA. Cheers to Civil Society! #BeerReview #WheatAle #CivilSociety #FindYourCraft
