Birdsong Brewing Company's Lazy Bird Brown Ale

Writer's picture: JoshJosh

Birdsong Brewing Company's Lazy Bird Brown Ale really does justice to a style not often emphasized in Craft Beer nowadays. I definitely appreciate the style, and I love seeing breweries make it their own.

Dark, dark amber--nearly brown--in color with a creamy head, this brew featured aromas of chocolate and toasted bread. That chocolatey aroma even reminded me of Tootsie Rolls.

As far as the taste goes, the Lazy Bird did not disappoint as it was rather light and easy-drinking while offering a nice nuttiness and earthiness. I can't say that I detected any chocolate flavor here, similar to the aroma, but there were some other notes of baked bread and a subtle sweetness, reminiscent of light toffee and caramel.

Cheers to an excellent brown ale which reminds me of fall days and cooler weather! #BeerReview #BrownAle #BirdsongBrewing #FindYourCraft
