Birdsong Brewing Company's Jalapeno Pale Ale

Writer's picture: JoshJosh

Our feature of Charlotte's Birdsong Brewing Company kicks off of the Jalapeno Pale Ale.

This is a great one guys! Birdsong does an amazing job in turning the traditional pale ale on its head with the addition of jalapeno peppers. I enjoy the fact that Birdsong incorporates the mellow smoothness of the pale ale with the peppery kick of the jalapeno; it provides for a very unique flavorful experience.

Golden in the color with a white head, this brew provides just a hint of sweetness at the inception of the taste. Mid-taste though, the heat comes and it lasts throughout. The great thing about the heat is that it is strong enough to notice and to linger, yet not so strong to where it kills your taste buds. This is huge for a pepper-infused beer--imparting the characteristic heat of the pepper without inhibiting the taster's ability to enjoy the brew and/or their accompanying food.

I absolutely love this brew, and I must say that it pairs very well with Mexican or Tex-Mex food too! Cheers to Birdsong, jalapenos, and pale ale! #BeerReview #PaleAle #BirdsongBrewing #FindYourCraft
